Recreation + Access

GeoData has played an increasing role in the access and recreation sector through its work for Defra, the Countryside Agency, local authorities and other Government agencies.

GeoData has a long term interest in both terrestrial and water-based recreation and access. This involvement has covered policy and strategy development, through to recreation demand and satisfaction survey and impact studies, monitoring and mapping.

GeoData has helped the Countryside Agency deliver the major programme of mapping and consultation implementing the CRoW Act 2000 legislation. Through further work with the Agency and Defra we are actively involved in other access and Rights of Way data management issues.
