Data quality assessments
GeoData have undertaken a large-scale data quality assessment for a major utility company.
The company had in excess of 3 million paper asset record cards in several formats stored in archives throughout their region. The cards incorporate information that could be used on an operational basis and would need to be digitised in order to be accessed by staff.
GeoData visited the archives and determined the extent of the record holdings and suitability (for operational purposes) of the information on the different types of record cards.
We were able to prioritise the records that should be digitised and undertook tests to calculate the time and costs involved in entering the information into a corporate database.
