SMR GIS - Database link
GeoData have developed an ArcMap 9 extension which links with the Chichester District Council's (CDC) existing Sites and Monuments database. It allows the CDC to capture multiple geometry types for existing sites and links through to their existing data.
An existing MS Access database was transferred to MS SQL Server and augmented the existing Access interface. An ArcMap extension developed in VB6 was built which integrates functionality into ArcMap and the Access front-end to allow CDC to capture any number of different geometries for a monument or event. The extension allows CDC to display and query their data using a combination of attribute and spatial queries.
