Recreation questionnaire survey
A questionnaire has been undertaken to record recreational use of greenspaces in Southern England as part of an environmental impact assessment.
The survey form was converted to an electronic form running on a Windows Mobile PDA. Developed in VB .NET with a Compact SQL server database as the data store, 9 devices were used to capture over 400 surveys. At the end of each day the devices were brought back to the office and synchronised with the master database.
Importing the data directly into the database reduced data entry costs, improved overall data quality and allowed the data to be immediately available for analysis.
