Coastal Vegetated Shingle Inventory
The coastal vegetated shingle BAP inventory has been updated from the 1990's version to provide a new and consistent dataset for 2008. This project has validated existing datasets of the habitat and undertaken field validation surveys.
Field survey methodologies have been reviewed to provide a standards based approach for future surveys that allow for the construction of the BAP inventory data layer. 12 sites have been surveyed to develop the methodology and site profiles and habitat extent changes have been assessed. The project has also created copies of the habitat classifications publications and a cross-referenced database to the habitat NVC/ sneddon and Randall classifications. Data can be obtained from the JNCC website.
