Capture of bus frequency and route locations for planning within the South Downs AONB
Understanding the distribution of services and facilities within the South Downs will assist the South Downs Conservation Board to influence the location and frequency of services, and link these to other rural transport and recreation initiatives.
The number of bus service operators within the South Downs AONB, which covers three counties, makes it difficult to provide an overall picture of the provision across the area. Even the bus operators do not know how their services relate to those of others. This programme of data capture is identifying the bus routes, bus stops and the frequencies of the services that are offered across the South Downs. This is helping the South Downs Conservation Board to develop transport plans for the area.
