Project management and financial monitoring databases

Off-the-shelf project management systems do not support the recording or monitoring requirements of consultancy companies and are often complex or expensive to customize.

GeoData have worked with several consultancy companies to develop project management and financial monitoring databases. These systems use MS Access and SQLServer and link with the companies' in-house timesheet systems to facilitate monitoring of time spent in individual projects.

The databases record both general overhead expenditure and income on a project-by-project basis including staff salaries and bonuses, external expenditure, overheads and expenses. This enables a picture to be built up of the progress and profitability of individual jobs.

Output is as reports which can be printed or e-mailed, and graphs and charts.

The databases also facilitate general project and tender (proposal) administration and management of information about staff.
