Mapping and data management of environment is a core interest of GeoData over the last 20 years.
Through GIS and database development, and increasingly with mobile computing we have developed a quality assured approach to GIS and environmental data handling. Through our data sourcing capture and digitisation services, data interpretation and analysis programmes we have supported many UK and overseas environmental programmes.
Recent commissions include: sourcing data for England on land cover, mapping of registered common land and rights of way, and upland habitat and cliff and maritime slope mapping.
Remote sensing approaches have been used extensively (both satellite and airborne) to provide classification and condition assessments of complex habitat classifications.
