GeoData hosts a regular series of professional GIS training courses using ArcGIS, MapInfo and Open Source QGIS software, ranging from introductory level to more advanced courses covering GIS in greater depth. In addition we have a range of on-demand courses, scheduled at your convenience. We also design bespoke training, tailored to client needs.

From January 2022 GeoData will be offering our training face to face (Classroom based at Highfield Campus – University of Southampton) and online ( via zoom) on a quarterly basis:
- Quarter 1 January to March – Classroom based
- Quarter 2 April to June – Online
- Quarter 3 July to September – Classroom based
- Quarter 4 October to December - Online

On the Day
The following applies to ALL courses:
- Maximum class size 6 people
- Computers and software provided
- Courses run between 9:30am and 4:30
- One month's follow–up support included (1 hour of support per delegate, by email or telephone)
- Courses are CPD approved by the Association for Geographic Information (AGI)
Please note that these are hands-on practical computer-based courses and delegates are expected to have a good working knowledge of the use of PCs, including file management (e.g. creating/deleting folders, moving files, unzipping files).
Online courses
- Courses are run via zoom.
- Delegates attending the QGIS courses will be expected to download and install QGIS on their own device prior to the course.
- ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap courses delegates will be able to access the software remotely using our Global Protect VPN. Delegates must be able to install and use Global Protect.
- Full instructions will be provided along with a connection test to confirm access for all online courses. This is to make sure delegates have access to the software required and have downloaded the course data. This also confirms access to zoom.
Classroom based courses
- Courses will be taught in the Masters GIS Suite, Level 1 Building 44 on Highfield Campus.
- Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
- Access to computers and software is provided for the course duration.
Discounts
Discounts are available to organisations booking multiple individuals onto courses and to individuals booking onto multiple courses. Only one discount applied per booking.
