OS festival 2026
What a brilliant day at the Innovation Festival in Ordnance Survey. Not even a record-breaking heatwave could keep the #geospatial community away, and the energy in the room was genuinely infectious. It was a real pleasure to see so many familiar faces and meet new ones who are excited about where our field is heading.
We were there in force from GeoData Institute and across Southampton Geospatial at the University of Southampton, and we had fantastic conversations about:
▪️ Our short courses in #GIS at GeoData Institute ( https://lnkd.in/eYHJm2Sv )
▪️ Data analysis training and aerial surveys using drones from Environmental Sensing at the University of Southampton (ES@S) ( https://lnkd.in/exiCG6zZ )
▪️ The #Geospatial Summer School, which kicks off in less than three weeks (a few places still left!) ( https://lnkd.in/eizJm_Fc )
Huge thanks to Ordnance Survey for organising an event of this magnitude for the 2nd time, to my GeoData colleague Chris Emberson, who tirelessly shows up for these crucial events and to Rosemary Nunn and Erin Downey for their invaluable support throughout the day!
Events like this are a reminder of why community matters in geospatial, even when the Met Office runs out of red on the map. Onwards!
