On the 3rd and 4th of June, GeoData Institute had the chance to be represented at GeoBusiness through Southampton Geospatial.

Visitors had the opportunity to speak with two of our colleagues, Chris Emberson and Efstathios Margaritis, about GeoData Institute’s CPD and GIS training portfolio, including our short courses, professional training activities and wider knowledge exchange work.

Across the two days, we spoke with a wide range of people, from surveyors and managers to students, academic colleagues and professionals connected in different ways to the University of Southampton. These conversations were valuable for sharing the work of GeoData Institute and for understanding how organisations are thinking about GIS skills, professional development and future collaboration.

The event was also a useful opportunity to highlight the wider geospatial activity taking place at the University of Southampton, including Southampton Geospatial’s business engagement work and the contribution of Environmental Sensing at the University of Southampton.
