Telecommunication efficiency hotspots
Local knowledge of signal deficiency hotspots provides a valuable input to the telecommunications planning.
Identification of hotspots of telecommunications deficiency can be partially automated through GIS analysis, but local factors may affect the reception. A pilot study and full implementation was undertaken for a major telecoms group to request and map local knowledge of these hotspots. Returns form suppliers were provided as a GIS layer to assist with network planning.
