Geomorphology » RHS / GeoRHS

GeoData has been developing the new River and Floodplain component of the RHS survey - GeoRHS. This survey builds on an earlier reach based assessment technique to record information (from both desk and field surveys) on the river channel, its floodplain and catchment.

This survey methodology programme is contributing inputs to the monitoring programme for the WFD and flood defence requirements. GeoData has been involved in man of the evaluation programmes for conservation of rivers using survey and typology and taxonomic approaches. GeoData has a number of trained and accredited RHS surveyors and is developing training and accreditation procedures for GeoRHS.
