About Us

Over 40 years of applied environmental and socio-environmental data and information experience

GeoData Institute is part of the School of Geography and Environmental Sciences at the University of Southampton. Since 1984, GeoData has co-ordinated interdisciplinary research and enterprise projects and services focused on the acquisition, processing and communication of data and information.

Our aim is to contribute to the sustainability and resilience applying enabling technologies and assembling multi-disciplinary expertise from across our University and partner networks to address real-world challenges.

As a university-based research and enterprise group we emphasise the application of integrated science to help address challenge from local to global. We see cross-disciplinary synergies that can help find practical solutions to complex questions.
