Railway station passenger surveys

A questionnaire survey of rail users travelling from Dean, Mottisfont and Dunbridge and Swaythling railway stations was undertaken in October/November 2015 to identify travel patterns, and concerns/mprovements relating to the stations and train services.

The Three Rivers Rail Partnership are a group of local people, local organisations and rail companies who work together to promote and improve the rail services and local bus services, concentrating on the rail routes which run alongside or cross the Avon, Itchen and Test rivers in Hampshire / Wiltshire.

The partnership undertook regular surveys at each of the partnership rail stations, and as part of the survey programme, GeoData undertook passenger tally and face to face surveys at Dean, Mottisfont & Dunbridge and Swaythling stations.

The survey was designed to identify passenger usage at each station and to collect opinions about the stations and services offered to help inform discussions relating to possible changes and improvements.
