Habitat mapping
GeoData has been creating a habitat mapping framework, based on the Ordnance Survey MasterMap datasets and existing habitat inventory and Aerial photographic interpretation. This approach has been developed through a series of projects.
Within Sussex we have been improving the underlying habitat classification inherent in the OS datasets to deliver a framework for habitats surveys and to target improvements in mapping Broad Habitat Classifications and Priority Habitat mapping. This is complementary to the habitat inventories and other national mapping programmes using the Digital National Framework (DNF) approach.
