Brighton Marina Tide Gauge website
Working with our associates and the Brighton Marina Estate Management Company, GeoData are developing a website to display coastal monitoring graphs from tide and wave instrumentation deployed in marina..
The project combines Open Source web and database technologies with in-house developed data transfer and management modules, presenting live environmental data to the public and sending warning emails and SMS messages to Marina staff.
The website will be hosted by Brighton Marina using Microsoft Windows and Internet Information Server (IIS) technologies. This is a good example of deploying traditionally Linux-based tools in a Windows-based environment and demonstrates the cross-platform capabilities of Open Source technology.
