John Latham

John is the former Senior Environment Officer, Geospatial Systems; in the Office of the Deputy Director General for Natural Resources, Food and Agriculture Organization- Rome . He was responsible for establishing the Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Organization across all departments (SDI). He is president of the International Centre for Remote Sensing of the Environment ( ICRSE) and a specialist in Natural Resources Management, Land cover and Land use mapping, Food Security, Environmental Risk Management and Nature-Based Solutions. He is project lead of ISO TC 211 19144 Series on Land Cover and Land Use ontologizes : LCML LUML.
Andy Murdock

Andy is an experienced geospatial consultant working with businesses, public sector organisations and UN agencies. Through Maploom, he and his colleagues have developed a state-of-the-art mapping, analysis and reporting platform which provides solutions that harness the power of geography to support decision making.
Louise Tricklebank
Visiting Fellow
Louise is an independent environmental planning consultant and visiting fellow in the School of Geography and Environmental Science. She specialises in ecosystem service and nature based solution approaches to help understand and champion the benefits that the environment brings to people and communities.

Dr John Shears
Visiting Professor
John is a polar geographer and expedition leader with over 35 years experience of working in the Arctic and Antarctica. He is best known for leading the Endurance22 expedition (www.endurance22.org), which discovered Shackleton's lost ship Endurance under the Antarctic pack ice in 2022. He is working with GeoData on a number of polar research projects.
Mike Clarke
Visiting Professor
Mike is an international advocate for system change and social cohesion at the nexus between the nature, climate change, food, land use and health. His has over 30 years of professional experience in conservation and sustainability, working on the strategic interaction between economy, environment and society. He was Chief Executive of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Europe’s largest civil society organisation for nature, combining practical delivery at scale with scientific research, policy analysis and advocacy, across the UK, the EU and globally.
Mike now focusses on high level system-change and strengthening social cohesion in response to the combined nature and climate crisis, at the inter-connections between biodiversity, climate change, food and health. He is working with GeoData on strategic landscape scale conservation initiatives.
Jonathan Spencer MBE
Visiting Professor/Director Field & Forest Land Management Ltd
Jonathan was until recently Head of Environment for Forestry England. He supports and advises staff within the School of Geography on habitat restoration, forestry and environmental projects and is currently engaged in supporting the development of undergraduate projects on habitat restoration and ecology with Dr. Tina Christman.
